    Welcome!  I'm Bridget

    I'm a mother of 2 school-age kids, my family & I live in Aurora, I'm self-employed & an involved community member. I'm excited about the chance to become Aurora-Stouffville's 2022-2026 Public School Trustee & represent both communities with integrity & dedication.

    ​

    As the election approaches, I'm talking to parents everyday & welcome feedback and questions. Voting for School Trustee is important, influencing the direction & stewardship of your child's education for the Next 4 Years.

    • skills: negotiation, client relationship building, brokering win-win solutions,  managing large financial budgets, responsibility for results

    Child/Youth Services

    • youth counsellor-group home, child/youth rec supervisor- boys/girls club -5 years   skills: working with vulnerable kids, care, rules/boundaries​

    Entrepreneurship

    founder of a unique start up business, grew revenues over 5 years & sold business for a profit. "Gown Go Round", a designer wedding gown resale/rental business, now located in Newmarket

    • Address student mental health crisis & tech/phone reliance: focus on resilience-building, healthy living, MH illness prevention, stress management

    • Protect student's privacy rights, free speech & entitlement to "due process"

    • Ensure fair student disciplinary policies

    Passionate about parent's rights to a "voice" and representing their child's best interests at the Board Table

     

    • Strong commitment to community outreach, development of parent-YRDSB communications strategy 

    • Parents deserve transparency as shareholders in their child's education

    • Increase parent understanding of Board policies/directives & how they impact their child's school

    • Foster open discussions, opinion survey, question/answer opportunities & create a stronger feedback loop from parents & community to Board.

    • A trustee's role requires managing competing interests & building consensus among diverse groups - problem solving

    • Mutual respect & clear open dialog is a must to drive measurable results & accountability

    • Weigh all policy as cost-benefit for majority of students to serve greatest good
